Quick French Bread Pizza

French Bread Pizza

This has to be the easiest and quickest family meal I've ever made so it doesn't really need a proper recipe as such! It's great for a treat and so much cheaper than paying out for a takeaway. Just right for movie night :)

All you do is slice a french stick (baguette) to the length you want your pizza and halve lengthways. Brush (or spray) a little olive oil on the cut side and lightly toast under the grill. You can then rub with a garlic clove if you like for added flavour but it's not essential.

In a small bowl, mix together a good dollop each of tomato puree and tomato ketchup. Add herbs and black pepper if you want, then spread a thin layer over your toasted bread.

Then it's just a matter of adding your favourite pizza toppings! These ones were very simple - just cheddar cheese, mozzarella cheese, ham and diced de-seeded tomatoes - but so tasty.

Ready for the grill

Once they're assembled you just pop them under a hot grill for about 5 minutes or so until the cheese is melted and golden.

Ready to eat!

There are so many ways you could serve these, perfect for a quick dinner with some oven chips or salad but also ideal for large gatherings as they're so quick to make.
